Johan Dagergard is a Partner & General Counsel of Lilja Capital and responsible for all legal and regulatory matters, including legal structuring, documentation and execution of transactions for which Lilja Capital are mandated.
Johan is a dual-qualified New York and Swedish lawyer with broad transactional experience. During more than 12 years with premier international law firms, Johan's practice focused on international capital markets with an emphasis on initial public offerings, private placements and other equity transactions, as well as private M&A transactions.
Before joining Lilja Capital, Johan worked for eight years in the London and New York offices of Latham & Watkins, advising clients with respect to U.S. securities laws and regulations. He represented issuers and investments banks on IPOs, private placements and other capital markets transactions across Europe, Middle East and the United States, including US registered offerings. At Latham & Watkins, Johan was also part of the Nordic practice, with responsibility for covering the firm's Nordic clients and transactions. Prior to Latham & Watkins, Johan worked for four years in Linklaters' Stockholm office where he advised on M&A and other transactions, commercial contracts and general corporate law.
Johan is a member of the New York Bar. He received an LL.M. in corporation law from New York University School of Law in 2012 and an LL.M. (jur kand.) in business law from the University of Lund, Faculty of Law, in 2008.
